Electron Orbitals and Probability Clouds

If an electron does not follow a tiny planetary orbit, what does an orbital picture show? Atoms still have definite, measurable properties, although quantum mechanics does not assign an electron a continuously traceable route around the nucleus. The fixed-path picture is replaced by a model that predicts where an electron is more or less likely to be detected.
