Feedback Loops: How Autonomous Machines Correct Their Own Actions
How can a robot keep its balance when the ground suddenly changes, or maintain speed when its load becomes heavier? A fixed command cannot account for every change in the world around a machine. The central control problem is how a machine can detect an unwanted change in its behaviour and respond without waiting for continuous human instructions. Feedback provides the information needed for that response.
