Work, Energy and Power: How Things Get Done

Energy is the capacity for causing change or doing work, measured in joules (J). It is held in recognised energy stores, such as kinetic, chemical and thermal stores. A force is an interaction that can change motion or shape, while power is the rate at which energy is transferred or work is done. Energy is conserved when changes occur rather than being used up or disappearing.
